the hub was appointed as fundraising consultant for FUSELEEDS, an international biennial music festival presenting an eclectic programme of jazz, contemporary, rock, folk and classical music.
Working closely with the Festival organisers, Leeds College of Music, Leeds Jazz and Leeds City Council, the hub secured the involvement of eight sponsors and funders, totally over £170,000 of financial support. A vibrant education project “Theme and Variation”, funded by Youth Music, saw over 250 children on stage at Leeds Town Hall performing a world premiere piece with a group of professional musicians led by Dave O’Higgins, the culmination of many months work on a wide variety of music styles and genres. Sponsorship from Leeds’ corporates Eversheds, Victoria Quarter and GE Capital and in-kind support from leading agency DS Emotion, with the festival website, ensured a range of innovative partnerships underpinned the festival and these partnerships were acknowledged with three Arts & Business New Partners awards. Furthermore, we brokered a media partnership with BBC Radio 3, ensuring hours of festival broadcasts throughout the country and a worldwide audience of over 1 million people.
